Happy Lunar New Year!!

Went to paternal granny's place for reunion dinner on the eve. Few years back, there were grandpa, grandma, dad, uncle Heong, uncle Johnny, aunty Rebecca and I on the round table. We used to have steamboat every year, and grandpa would always ask me to peel the prawns for him, and all the other elders. It was kinda my 'duty' cos I was the only grandchild at the table. In year 2002-2003(2003 before CNY), two of them left. Dad, followed by grandpa. The reunion dinner table got lesser people and became so spacious that all of us weren't used to it. I can still remember the reunion dinner in year 2003 was a very quiet one, with 2 empty seats, especially grandpa cos he had a seat that belonged to him that we called the Principal's seat(he was a school principal before la). I stopped peeling prawns cos theres no need to anymore. It was a very sad dinner.

Uncle Johnny decided to ask uncle Joo and family to join us for reunion dinner since year 2005. To be honest, I didn't like the reunion dinner with so many people around. The feeling of the old reunion is no longer there. We don't sit around the same table. The mothers will be busy feeding their children, who are always running in the garden. The guys will be at the round table, and the girls will be at the side table. I don't quite think this is a 'reunion' dinner.

Whatever it is, I still feel a sense of belonging whenever I'm at the house. That was once my 'home' when I was homeless. That was the place who provided me a shelter over my head when mum and I didn't have one.

This is the place I'm talking about. =)

It is a very old house. Elders told me that they hadn't renovate the house since my grandparents moved in 60 over years ago. They mend it themselves if theres a crack or what.

Just compare it to the one at the other side to see how OLD the house is.

I haven't gone upstairs for quite sometime. Grandpa's room is left empty and dad's was taken over by uncle Heong. I always feel very sad when I go upstairs cos the people I really miss are no longer there, so I don't go up nowadays.

Alright alright, I know I shouldn't get too emo especially its the festive season now. But I jus want to blog about it. Afterall this is a very important place to me. I really hope I have the money to buy over this place.. but no way I can afford it! =\

I don't know what are my nephews doing~ Haha.. So sweet!

My neice and I on the 1st day of CNY. Yeah.. my neice is only 3 yrs younger than me~ Hoho.. I have a nephew who is 2 yrs older than me thou.

Meldy, my very smart, cute, pretty, sweet little cousin from maternal side! Love her! =)

And finally, my total earnings. Like very little this yr leh.. dunno why also~
